Good morning, all!
First off, it's Thursday, so we have to take some time to wish Baby Bally Happy 29 weeks!! That means 11 weeks to go!!! (And next week we can start the 10 week countdown) - I can hardly believe this! I remember when I was making the announcement that we were 20 weeks down and 20 to go - Now, it's 11 to go!! And that's if the baby doesn't come early ;)
Well, Ian and I went to the epidural class yesterday as previously mentioned, and when we left, Ian's comment was "I don't think I should be in the room for that" and my comment was, "I REALLY don't want one of those"
The nurse brought out the entire epidural kit, and let me tell you, it just looks so scary and painful! Especially for a needle-phobic person like me!!!
So... as of this morning, I plan on a natural delivery - I suppose we'll see how its feeling once I get the contractions, and as my mom says, "Keep your options open"
I copied in some info on what the baby is doing at 29 weeks - It's pretty informative and interesting! I think I need to start playing it some more music :)
Have a great Thursday, everyone!
Love
Laura
"The baby is growing rapidly at this point weighing about 2 2/3 pounds and measuring around 14 ½ inches. The baby’s head is growing and there is a rapid brain development that began since the 28th week. The baby’s muscles and lungs also continue to develop and mature. The baby can now hear better and can distinguish real sounds and voices from all the vibrations around him/her. Some experts say that the baby’s heart rhythm will increase on hearing the sound of the father or mother. The music you play now or story read now will be recognized by the baby later as you will observe the baby stopping to listen for the same familiar sound later. The baby is less hyperactive now and no matter how much you eat the baby will want to have more leaving you feeling hungry and tired all the time. Your baby can now open its eyes and turn its face towards a source of bright light. The fingernails are growing and fat layers begin to form on the skin as the baby gets ready for its life outside the womb. The fetus can suck its thumb and has the ability to cry."

I agree with your mom - keep your options open. Or you may want to invest in an iron bar to bite down on during the blessed event! And in a month or so you'll be out of school and able to relax and concentrate on gestating and just chilling. We're looking at another beautiful day in the St. Louis Metro area today - 70 and sunny and I'm free to do whatever I want! Yeah!!! Have a good weekend.
